United grain company

Currently, the “United Grain Company” Joint Stock Company is a vertically integrated holding that includes management of all grain movement production cycles:  from storage to sales of derivative products.

Grain storage facilities: 17 silos and grain-collecting stations with a total nameplate storage capacity of 2.1 million tons;

Grain processing facilities: 8 processing plants with annual capacity of 1.2 million tons;

Port terminals: 2 port terminals with annual transshipment capacity of 6.4 million tons of grain; (Novorossiysk, Kaliningrad).

UGC JSC is a state grain operator and agent in the state purchase and commodity interventions. The Company also performs the functions on the preservation of grain of the state intervention fund and its sale according to the orders of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Government of the Russian Federation.

History of Creation and Development of the “United Grain Company” Joint Stock Company:

UGC JSC is an agri-food company with the state participatory interest that focuses on the development and operation of the grain market infrastructure facilities, sales of the Russian grain export potential in the global market, active trade and purchase activities in the domestic grain market.

The Open Joint Stock Company “Federal Agency for Food Market Regulation” was established on March 21, 2007 following restructuring of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Federal Agency for Food Market Regulation” under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation whose main function was to take measures on the grain market state regulation.

Federal Agency for Food Market Regulation OJSC was re-named United Grain Company OJSC by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 290 on 20/03/2009, and top priorities of the Company activities were determined:

  • increase in grain purchase and sale in the domestic market
  • unlocking the export potential of the Russian Federation
  • upgrading and construction of silos and port terminals

Implementation of the above mentioned top-priorities is provided by the UGC JSC Long-Term Development Program for 2015-2020.
